Footpaths Group

The newly formed Footpaths Group will be meeting on the first Wednesday of each month commencing 7th July at 7.00pm in Dalton Town Hall.

Citizens Advice Bureau return to Dalton Town Hall

The Citizens Advice Bureau outreach service is returning to Dalton Town Hall.  The service will initially be every other week on a Thursday morning commencing at 10am on 22nd April.  No appointment is necessary.

Neighbourhood Policing Team - Public Meetings

On the first Monday of every month there will be a Public Meeting attended by the Neighbourhood Policing Team at the Town Hall, Station Road at 6.45pm.  Come along and discuss any concerns you may have.  Please note out of hours access to the Town Hall is via the door at the rear of the building

Citizen of the Year Award 2009

Nominations are now being taken for the Citizen of the Year Award 2009.

Previous winners have been nominated for Charity or Community work and their sporting achievements although this is not an exhaustive list.

Closing date for nominations is Wednesday 10th February 2010.

Photogaphy Competition 2010

We are now accepting entries for the Photography Competition 2010.  1st prize - £75, 2nd prize - £50, 3rd prize - £25.  Entries should be submitted in jpeg format to dtcphotocomp2010@orange.net.  Photographs should be subjects taken within the Dalton in Furness boundary (including Newton) only - landmarks, seasons, Christmas, buildings etc.
Entries may be colour or black and white and the date the photograph taken provided.

Some or all of the entries may be used in future publications, ie Annual Report, calendars, postcards, etc.

The 2010 Dalton-in-Furness Calendar is now available to buy from Dalton Town Hall and various businesses in the Town - Price £3.50

Dalton Souvenir mugs are now available to buy at Dalton Town Hall.  Price - £3.50. 

Photography Competition 2008/9

The results are in for the Photography Competition 2008/9 and are as follows:

1st prize - The Haggs by Ann Thurlow
2nd prize - Spring 1 by Andrew Rose
3rd prize - Approach to Dalton Cemetery by Jim Threadingham

All entries can be viewed on the website gallery and will be on display in Dalton Town Hall from Wednesday 22nd April until Friday 1st May 2009

Dalton Town Hall 125 years old

To celebrate 125 years since the opening of Dalton Town Hall we are hoping to hold an exhibition in May of photographs from Dalton in years gone by.  We are asking members of the public who may have photographs we could include in the exhibition to contact us at the Town Hall
