I am very proud to be Mayor of Dalton and Newton for 2008-09. I have worked as a Councillor since 2003 and was Chair of the Development Partnership for 3 of those years. My record shows my belief in Partnership working, the Council cannot do everything!

I am looking forward to the future of Dalton. We have a Rural Projects Worker who is taking projects forward and we will soon have a new Sports Hall in Dowdales’ grounds. Other projects are being developed and each will be assessed by the Council as necessary to ascertain the level of support needed.

The theme for my Mayoral Year is ‘What’s Good about Dalton’. We have a lot to be proud of, Dowdales, the Christmas Festival, the Castle and much more. We also have a great population who are proud of their Town and are its greatest asset.

I encourage all residents of Dalton to work with the Council to build on what is good. Anybody can criticize but we need people who can take action and build Dalton’s future.
