I was born in Barrow but I would describe myself as a Daltonian having spent most of my life in the town. I enjoyed my school years at Dalton St Mary's (The Green School) and then Dowdales until 1975. I think of myself as very fortunate and privileged to be able to serve the residents of Dalton with Newton as Councillor. Whether at home or away I always refer to Dalton as 'Gods Little Acre', it's a little town with a big heart and has lots going for it, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It is my intention as Councillor to build relationships and partnerships with businesses within the Borough, particularly BAE Systems where I have been employed for the past 31 years. In doing so I hope to help secure funding and assistance for the many projects that have been identified for the town particularly the Gate Ways Project and updating of the Drill Hall. As a Councillor I want to ensure that we have modern facilities, amenities, and good infrastructure that serve both young and old alike, I want Dalton to be a town where people want to come to, but more importantly somewhere where they want to stay. I look forward to the challenges ahead and also meeting the people of Dalton and Newton.
